Well, it is 11pm and I am finally in my room after a long, long travel day. I made it from just north of Portland, OR to Sacramento, CA...approximately 700 miles. Here are some pictures of Portland and some of the beautiful scenery along the way.
I made it to Sacramento just in time to visit Cal Expo, the harness track. I got to ride in the starting car/gate at the track. It was very exciting to see the horses so close and so intense at the start and during the entire race!
Tomorrow, San Francisco, here I come!

I'm you got to Sacramento safely. With pit stops it had to be a 11-12 hour driving day.
Your trip around the track in the Starter's Car must have been exciting. I had the opportunity to do that several years ago and it was awesome. It would have been fun to be the Marshall for a race or two.
